Hi Dawn,

I don’t handle change very well either, but I like the idea of being creative within the boundaries that are set by facebook. One of my mantras is that the pain is in the resistance, so I’m trying to practise what I preach and letting go of resistance to things that I can’t control. Thanks so much for the article. It helped me get my head around the new facebook changes.

I think that is a good idea, sure. You can always personalize it and make it your own. I definitely suggest offering something as an incentive for people to join an email list.

I think it depends on your business and what you are offering. For a “business” site, I think it is important to have social media icons, testimonials, video, or whatever else will help a potential client learn more about you and have different ways to contact you, etc. But if you are offering one specific product or service, then it might be best to create a very simple squeeze page with a specific call to action. But again, I think it depends on the focus of the site. Does that help clarify things for you?

Hi, I read on Thesis blog, that putting badges, testimonials, social media badges to your sidebar can be counterproductive. You need to get visitors to make one specific action on your site. If you put too many things in your sidebar, visitors will be confused and take no action…What do you think about it?

I have a facebook fanpage, and as you stated, with the new timeline layout fans can send me a private message, but am I able to send them one first? sometimes i like to do raffle giveaways in order to get more likes on my page. I want to let them know through a private message to get their contact information rather than exposing it for everyone to see on the fanpage wall. Any ideas?
